Minutes of the January 7th<\/sup> meeting were read and approved. m\/s\/p AB\/MM<\/p>\n\n\n\n Winter lecture series: Megan gave an informative talk. We need a title for Andy Morgen\u2019s talk March 22. Motion: to invite the cancelled speaker from UI Extension to reschedule for April 12. m\/s\/p AE\/AB<\/p>\n\n\n\n Garden Walk (LB\/AF): The committee has convened for the June 27 event with an art in the garden theme. It will include an invitation to the community to participate in the Art Institute\u2019s Project Windows, celebrating de Kooning\u2019s and other abstract expressionist artists in the Institute\u2019s collection. Anna will be the contact for submissions. Motion: to participate in the Art Institute\u2019s Project Windows. m\/s\/p LCB\/AB The committee\u2019s next meeting is 3\/13 at 6:30 pm at Lynn\u2019s house, new members welcome. Brent said IDNR and HPEO, who participated in last year’s Walk, will hold independent events on the day but would like cross-promotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n IDNR Spring Clean-up: The Club and public are invited to clean up a factory site bed 3\/ 21 at 9:30 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Work days will begin 4\/16, occurring every other week. In general, we\u2019ll meet Thursdays 6 \u2013 7 pm at Arcade Park and Saturdays 9 \u2013 10 am at Gateway Garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Discussion: At John Cwenkala\u2019s question whether to use Weed n\u2019 Feed on the Gateway lawn (yes in Spring, no in Fall), Arlene and Susan S. suggested we consider doing more sustainable gardening. For the Fall, we decided to try overseeding the lawn with microclover seed. Mike will draw up a proposed more sustainable planting plan. Sue J. and Mike will work on requesting supplies for the CPD community grant. Discussion: what to do with Pullman Park beds along 111th<\/sup> as streetscape work proceeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Openlands Tree Planting is 4\/29, but we need 10 volunteers for parkway trees in the community in order to participate.
